My first full book, Moving West: A Journey from Georgia to Montana, tells my story of moving from the suburbs of Georgia to the middle of nowhere in Montana. Just a day after graduating from college, I set out across the country alone to pursue a life I have long dreamed of living.

Over the past two years, I’ve spent time pursuing all sorts of outdoor activities. From fly fishing and camping, to hiking and photography. Montana has everything an outdoor lover could ever want. Each season here offers something new to partake in, from watching wildlife in spring, fishing in the summer, and skiing in the winter.  Being so close to Yellowstone National Park offers me the opportunity to photograph landscapes and the abundant wildlife at its best.

About the Author

Just a day after graduating college, I packed up and headed west. I started working in Grand Teton National Park, and I eventually landed in my current location of West Yellowstone, Montana. Between the Tetons and Yellowstone, I’ve seen a lot of things I never could have imagined seeing if I didn’t follow this dream.

Reader Reviews

The story of a fearless journey out West combined with stunning photography. I am in my element when surrounded by nature and this book brings to life a place I have never visited. Beautiful pictures of amazing wildlife in an unspoiled part of America.

Sandy Reese

I have known Trent Sizemore, author of “Moving West: A Journey from Georgia to Montana”, since he was still in the last phases of his college career.

Like many of my associates, colleagues, clients and friends – these days – Trent is a ‘digital friend’. Or, as the infamous Irish poet, William Butler Yeats penned, “There are no strangers here, only Friends Not Yet Met”.

Trent’s posted images began catching my eye, on several online image-share platforms. As Tent posted images and I would discover them, I would comment and engage conversation. It became clear this outdoor photographer would not continue on in the East, for long. He was Westward-bound as soon as he could be. And it was so.

This book is an exciting, eclectic, somewhat serendipitous and always pleasing extension of the young man, with whom so many have become friends. People have grown to trust in his sensual passion for outdoor photography and the capturing of the essence of any image Trent finds before his camera lens.

This book is only the beginning of a long and engaging photographic career. It will become one of many guidebooks to the Sizemore Way. Dig in.

Les Booth

Through Trent’s passion and love for the west, he has inspired others to pursue their own dreams. He is able to capture the rawness of the west and show that the west really is the best through his photography. You are able to see how much he respects nature and admires the beauty of it through each photo. Thanks Trent for living the dream!
